Using commercial diplomacy to drive decarbonisation

In the OGN interview, we discuss the urgent need for international collaboration to address methane emissions and other energy-related challenges. The global energy landscape is undergoing a profound shift due to climate change, technological advancements, and geopolitical uncertainties.

As economies develop, emissions continue to rise, underscoring the need for a coordinated response across sectors like oil and gas, agriculture, and waste management. We highlight how methane abatement, carbon capture, and broader decarbonisation efforts require collaboration among governments, businesses, and local communities, bridging traditional and emerging energy domains.

We also explore the importance of both strong regulatory frameworks and technological innovations in reducing emissions, but stress that these alone are not enough. We discuss how organizations like the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce play a critical role in fostering partnerships through initiatives such as the Methane Abatement Reverse Trade Missions, which connect stakeholders across sectors and regions.

To address methane emissions effectively, a comprehensive strategy that integrates regulatory, technological, financial, and societal factors is essential. Please click here to read the full article titled "Using commercial diplomacy to drive decarbonisation."
