Morocco: Cloud Computing and e-Government Services Reverse Trade Mission
Morocco’s increasing urbanization and digitization have elevated the need for data center and cloud computing capacity in the Kingdom.
In February 2024, U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) hosted a high-level delegation of 15 Moroccan officials and executives from public/private sector entities with the objectives of familiarizing delegates with the latest U.S. technologies, services, and best practices for data centers, cloud computing, and digital government services including artificial intelligence and cybersecurity technologies.
The RTM also supported Morocco’s efforts for digital transformation which aim to digitize public sector services, support digital commerce, and create a positive ecosystem for start-ups. Finally, the RTM also facilitated opportunities for U.S. firms to connect with delegates and learn of upcoming market opportunities.
The delegation included senior leadership from Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, General Directorate Information Systems Security (DGSSI), Agency for Digital Development (ADD), Federation of Information Technology, Telecommunications, and Offshoring (APEBI), Association of Information Systems Users in Morocco (AUSIM, General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and Technopark.
Ms. Gretchen Krantz-Evans, USTDA’s Country Manager for Middle East, North Africa and Redouane Ghadouna, Commercial Service Specialist U.S. Commercial Serviced accompanied the delegation to facilitate discussions, answer delegate questions, and provide support throughout the RTM.
