Africa’s economic ascent and growing strategic importance, both regionally and globally, has resulted in heightened business interest across the Bilateral Chamber’s network of international leadership and esteemed Board of Advisors.
According to the African Economic Outlook, Africa remains the second fastest growing economic region. Net financial flows to Africa were recently estimated at USD 208 billion.
With this in mind, our Africa Insight Series provides timely information and gives access to the wide array of business opportunities and trends in the continent, as well as create a platform for actionable insight and engagement among business leaders from the public and private sectors, government officials, subject-matter experts and practitioners.

On Monday, June 20th, 2016, the Bilateral Chamber was pleased to host Africa Insight Series, featuring a keynote address by His Excellency, Mninwa Johannes Mahlangu, South Africa’s Ambassador to the United States. The Bilateral Chamber was pleased to support the 2016 Africa iXchange Pan African Women’s Economic Empowerment Summit, the first conference of its kind, which debuted in Houston, Texas – February 25-28, 2016. Special guests included Lady Ndileka Mandela, the grand-daughter of Nelson Mandela, who was keynote speaker for the “Jewels of Africa” gala dinner, along with Presidential Candidate for the Democratic of the Republic of Congo. On May 5, 2015, the Bilateral Chamber hosted an executive briefing with Ghana’s Minister of Petroleum, T.H. Emmanual Armah-Kofi Buah. As part of our recently launched Africa Insight Series, The Honorable Minister offered a keynote address in which he emphasized his country’s economic stability, resources portfolio and ample investment potential. March 2-5, 2015. The Bilateral Chamber was honored to host The Honorable Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Minister of Trade and Industry, Republic of Ghana, for a 4 -day U.S. roadshow encompassing the cities of Atlanta, GA and Houston, TX. This business-development mission included meetings and site visits with some of Atlanta’s and Houston’s most prominent public and private sector entities including: Coca-Cola, UPS, PodPonics, AGCO, Halliburton, M&H, HPI, Port of Houston Authority, Universal Weather & Aviation, Houston Airport System, among others.
