Business Briefing With The Honorable Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister of Petroleum, Republic of Ghana

On May 5, 2015, the Bilateral Chamber hosted an executive briefing with Ghana’s Minister of Petroleum, T.H. Emmanual Armah-Kofi Buah.  As part of our recently launched Africa Insight Series, The Honorable Minister offered a keynote address in which he emphasized his country’s economic stability, resources portfolio and ample investment potential.

A 46-year-old management consultant by training, The Honorable entered Ghanaian politics in 2008 and was subsequently elected into parliament in 2009. Prior to this, he was in management positions at the United States Postal Service. A management professional with academic qualifications in law and management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) of Ghana and the University of Maryland, USA, he has held several executive positions locally and internationally.

He was Deputy Minister of Energy in a period when Ghana gained global attention for commercial oil and gas production from the Jubilee field. He has managed various local and national stakeholders with regard to Ghana’s Energy sector, and his legal knowledge has been applied in the development of various legislative instruments pertaining to the Energy sector.

The Honorable Minister has a deep appreciation of local community needs and national development expectations with regard to Energy and is constantly exploring and developing innovative initiatives for meeting them. He is married with two children.
