Valiant Clinic, Dubai:

Valiant Clinic, a 15,000 square meter premium multi-specialty outpatient medical clinic in Dubai, UAE is the first offering of Meraas Healthcare, a division of Meraas. Valiant Clinic is managed and operated by Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services, and has been operational since November 2016.

With an unprecedented focus on wellness and preventive health, Valiant Clinic incorporates state-of-the-art technology to give patients more control over their quality of life. The opening of the Clinic represents the culmination of years of effort on the part of Houston Methodist’s consulting teams in both Dubai and Houston, with subject matter engagement across the entire organization. Houston Methodist has been involved in the project since the business planning stages, and has worked closely with the Meraas leadership team to ensure the Clinic stands up to its initial vision both clinically and operationally.

Valiant Clinic was established in part to support the Dubai Medical Tourism Strategy to attract 500,000 medical tourists to the emirate by 2020. Houston Methodist brings an international standard of excellence to the operations. Through Valiant’s close partnership with Houston Methodist, the Clinic is able to receive expert radiology support on specialty images through state-of-the-art teleradiology technology.

Cathy Easter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services, commented on the Clinic opening: “We are committed to improving the health of the world community through sharing our innovative, personalized patient care and health care expertise, as well as standards of clinical service excellence. By working with Meraas, we aspire, through Valiant Clinic, to positively impact health care in the region and promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and preventive medicine as key to disease management.”

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre: Saudi Arabia:

Elsewhere in the region, Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services partnered with King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in the development of its newly opened King Abdullah Centre for Oncology and Liver Diseases. Houston Methodist was initially commissioned by King Faisal Specialist Hospital to conduct an assessment of the existing facility, and later engaged to lead the operational commissioning of the new center. The new cancer center is a 218-bed facility featuring inpatient nursing units, diagnostics, ambulatory clinics, support and technical services, and opened in April of this year. For this project, Houston Methodist deployed a Riyadh-based project management team, supported by staff in Dubai and Houston. One of the major highlights of the project has been the development of a unique patient experience program, tailored to the values and care provided at King Faisal Specialist Hospital. The resulting center is another example of Houston Methodist’s continued commitment to improving the quality of care in the Middle East.
