Student Internship Exchange Program

The Student Internship Exchange Program aims to equip individuals from emerging nations with the understanding, knowledge, and training vital to the development of strong economies by offering training to students, from the MENA region attending U.S. universities.

  • Under pressure from rising unemployment rates among youth, countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries (GCC) began the imposition of programs geared at employing locals (i.e. Saudization or Emiratization); however, U.S. companies operating in the region have faced the challenge of hiring locals while still maintaining high standards of required skills
  • With the support of our corporate members, we have implemented an internship program to identify qualified students from the GCC countries studying in the United States and place them in internship positions at participating companies in the United States or at regional offices
  • The GCC students gain invaluable expertise in a professional environment with best practices and realistic work place methodology

Current member participation include Saudi Aramco, Jacobs Engineering, Chevron, Fluor, ExxonMobil and M&H Energy.

Thank you for the great job that you and your staff did to give me a job opportunity with one of the largest engineering companies in the world. To be honest, when I first received a message through the chamber’s Facebook talking about interns and opportunities I didn’t take it that serious. But, then I thought why not give it a shot since I was already applying through other agencies. It turned out that the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber were the only people that were really looking forward to really help. The hiring process took two phone calls and an interview. The job is very fit to my major and it was exactly what I was looking for. Again special thanks to you Hala, thank you Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce.

Best Regards, Abdulrahman AlMhana
