On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, Bilateral Advisory Board Member and former U.S. Ambassador to Bahrain, The Honorable Adam Ereli, moderated a panel discussion with three of his most distinguished peers: The Honorable U.S. Ambassadors to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE.

This program was a highly rare opportunity to gain first-hand insight from these tenured foreign service officers. Representing what are arguably the most influential countries in the GCC, these Honorable Ambassadors along with their senior commercial officers shared their views on the following topics, among many others:

  • Is the current socio-economic climate leading the GCC countries to find more common ground?
  • What steps are the countries taking to face challenges as a collective force?
  • Is the decline in oil prices leading to reforms that will encourage additional growth in the non-hydrocarbon private sector?
  • What are the challenges for U.S. companies looking to do business in the GCC and how can they be overcome?
