Algeria Visa Information

Passports and visas are required for U.S. citizens traveling to Algeria. Passports must be valid for at least six months.

The Algerian visa application must be typed in all capital letters. The Algerian Embassy no longer accepts handwritten visa applications.

Those currently residing in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia must apply for visas through the embassy in Washington, DC. Residents of all other states including Hawaii must apply through the Consulate General in New York.

Algerian-American dual nationals can enter Algeria either with an Algerian visa in their U.S. passports or with their Algerian passports. We recommend that such dual nationals travel to Algeria using an Algerian visa in their U.S. passports.
