Africa Series Joint Session: Equatorial Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire

The Bilateral Chamber's Africa Insights Committee hosted a Boardroom Session focused on the Sub-Saharan West Africa energy industry. Hosted by Bilateral Chamber member, Amegy Bank, and its CEO Steve Stephens, we were joined by His Excellency Gabriel M. Obiang Lima, Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, and His Excellency Thomas Camara, Minister of Mines, Petroleum & Energy, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire for a highly engaging discussion.

Moderated by Dr. Adel Chaouch, Chair of the Africa Insights Committee, the Ministers shared their outlook for partnership and investment opportunities in their respective countries. They highlighted foreign investment law reformation, new energy sector projects and their vision of the global energy transition as it relates to Africa. Minister Gabriel outlined a comprehensive vision for the future of West Africa emerging as a gas export hub. Guests and members of the Bilateral Chamber’s Africa Insights Committee, ShaMaran Petroleum, Kosmos Energy, Marathon Oil, MODEC, Chevron, and Houston Airport System, underscored their commitment and support for Equatorial Guinea’s and Cote d’Ivoire’s energy sector projects and sustainable economic development goals.
